A yellow traffic light signifies that the light is about to change to red, and drivers should prepare to stop. This alert serves as a warning to ensure that vehicles do not enter the intersection once the light turns red. It is crucial for maintaining safety on the road, as stopping at a yellow light helps prevent potentially dangerous situations where drivers might collide with others who are crossing against a red light.

While it may seem like one could proceed with caution or speed up to clear the intersection, these actions could lead to accidents or violations of traffic laws. The primary intention of the yellow light is to give drivers a clear signal to slow down and prepare for the possibility of having to come to a stop. This understanding is vital for responsible driving and ensuring the safety of all road users.
